The family has suitcases by the door, maps on the floor, and kids who can barely sit still. It is one more sleep before they roll out for Disney World, with snacks, autograph pens, and excitement already packed.
Where it came from
This was the opening number, cut right as the whole idea was taking shape (the origin story of the catalog itself is in the liner notes), or maybe somewhere into that first day of driving; honestly, I can’t remember. The prompt was just the kids’ running hype list: the Bippity Boppity Boutique, meeting Belle and the SuperKitties, building a real droid, and Guardians at Epcot — because on our first trip the ride dealt us “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and it was awesome, and everybody was already praying we’d pull it again. We never did. There’s a whole single about that later in the catalog.
Yacht rock was, truthfully, a random pick, but it’s music my wife and I both love, and that glossy, sunlit, no-hurry glide turned out to be exactly what one-more-sleep anticipation sounds like.
